JOB TITLE : Painter
DEPARTMENT/PROJECT : FMES 
RESPONSIBLE TO : Supervisor


Main Purpose of Job:

   Responsible for maintaining all painting of building exterior and interior walls, ceilings, steel & wooden doors, grills, railings and any others painted/ polished fixtures with different paint / polish finishing’s. To effectively monitor civil works/ services for improvements and added value. Maintaining a safe and efficient working environment within the civil team.



Main Duties & Responsibilities



1. Conduct daily routine and operational works in trade: Civil, this will cover a multitude of areas such as painting of all building exterior and interior walls, ceilings, steel & wooden doors, grills, railings and any others painted/ polished fixtures with different paint / polish finishing’s and other miscellaneous civil works.

2. Maintain good communication; participate in daily team meetings and grooming inspections with Supervisor at the start of the shift.

3. Complete a ‘Hand-over’ process at the beginning and end of your shift. Complete a daily log of activities and all Task Sheets for Planned (PPM) & Reactive Works.

4. Attend work as per shift patterns/Rota with good time and attendance as outlined by your Supervisor. You must ensure that you sign in and out on each shift.

5. Support the Company in out-of-hours emergency work, as required. To immediately report any potential dangerous situations to the Supervisor.

6. Deal with emergency situations in a professional manner informing Supervisor / Line Manager immediately.

7. To participate in the provision of services covering a 24 hour/7 day operation.

8. Conduct daily inspection of tools/equipment; keep in a safe/designated place.

9. Mixing of different colour shades to obtain required existing colour shade.

10. Raise and monitor issues reported to Helpdesk for hard services through to completion. Ensure tasks are completed within target times. Make sure accurate records of all works carried out, completing all Task Sheets for Planned (PPM) & Reactive works.

11. Inform Supervisor of material requests in advance for the completion of Planned and Reactive works. Recommend surplus stock for Reactive works in line with Stock Management.

12. Get involved in Project Work, Additional Works, as required.

13. Have a positive attitude and flexible approach to work demands ensuring that you carry out a professional service.

14. Apply relevant trade skills to undertaking scheduled installation works as required.

15. Apply relevant trade skills to undertaking schedules, and reactive maintenance tasks as required.

16. Support and promote the Company Vision and Values, encouraging good performance with the promotion of Employee of The Month and Employee of The Year.

17. To comply with the Company’s Policies, Procedures and written instructions.

18. To fulfill Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety management system.

19. To support the Company's Quality Policy ISO 9001:2008 and actively participate in the achievement of Company and personal Quality objectives.

20. To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this Job Description.


Qualification and Experience Criteria:



1. Completion of a technical training program in painting; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

2. Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade. Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal. Knowledge of text and display requirements for signage applications. Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.

3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience out of which 3 years from GCC in the respective field
