Victorian Dendritic Agate Ring Agate Both earrings are signed onA classic and depictive ring from the Victorian era featuring dendritic agate in a 18ct gold oval. With realistic depictions of ferns and moss in a rub over setting, circa 1850. The bifurcated shank on this piece has a horizontal double band decoration that sits either side of the finger. The name dendritic agate coms from the Ancient Greek word dndron, which means "tree". It is a type of quartz with a milky, opaque background, with crystal inclusions
