JOB TITLE : HVAC Technician




Maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.To provide technical skills & support to the in house maintenance team.To ensure the satisfactory completion of any installations, repairs and planned maintenance and reactive tasks.


1.Conduct daily routine and operational works in trades: HVAC Technician.

2.Maintain good communication; participate in daily team meetings and grooming inspections with Line Manager at the start of the shift.

3.Complete a ‘Hand-over’ process at the beginning and end of your shift. Complete a daily log of activities and all Task Sheets for Planned (PPM) & Reactive Works. 

4.Attend work as per shift patterns/Rota with good time and attendance as outlined by yourSupervisor/ Line Manager.  You must ensure that you sign in and out on each shift.

5.Support the Company in out-of-hours emergency work, as required. To immediately report any potential dangerous situations to theSupervisor/ Line Manager.

6.Deal with emergency situations in a professional manner informing Supervisor/ Line Manager immediately.

7.To participate in the provision of services covering a 24 hour/7 day operation.

8.Check the Chillers, Pumps and Cooling Tower hourly (once) and record the parameters in the ‘Chiller Log Sheet’.

9.Check the chemical availability in the Chiller Dosing tank and fill if it is low level.

10.Inform your Supervisor/Line Manager if any abnormality observed in Chillers, Pumps and Cooling Towers immediately.

11.Follow the daily work instruction which is given by the Supervisor/Manager and complete all the mentioned tasks within the time frame.

12.To provide hands on support to the Facilities Management team for all mechanical and electrical tasks.

13.To immediately report any potential dangerous situations to theSupervisor/ Line Manager.

14.Deal with emergency situations in a professional manner informingSupervisor/ Line Manager immediately.

15.To manage and participate in the provision of services covering a 24 hour/7 day operation.

16.Raise and monitor issues reported to Helpdesk for all services until completion. Ensure tasks are completed within target times. Make sure accurate records of actual work carried out are maintained. Task sheets to be completed accurately and signed.

17.Inform Supervisor/Line Manager of material requests in advance for the completion of Planned and Reactive works. Recommend surplus stock for Reactive works in line with Stock Management.

18.To prioritise all tasks and ensure they are completed within the required time scales.

19.SupportSupervisor/ Line Manager in providing management information with regard to the delivery of HVAC services

20.Responsible for maintaining  updating records/reports, as required e.g. engineers/operational reports/logs/maintenance contacts/job record cards/work sheets etc.

21.Get involved in Project Work, Additional Works, as required.

22.Liaise as necessary with customers maintaining good communication links to resolve any matters (queries/issues) that may arise in an efficient and effective manner.

23.Have a positive attitude and flexible approach to work demands ensuring that you carry out a professional service.

24.Apply relevant trade skills to undertaking schedules, & reactive maintenance tasks as required.

25.Required to attend training programs as necessary to meet the contract requirement and for personal development.

26.When on duty, to be accountable and responsible for own position. 

27.Suggest energy saving campaigns to promote efficient use of energy utilities.

28.To fulfill Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety management system.

29.To support the Company's Quality Policy ISO 9001:2008 and actively participate in the achievement of Company and personal Quality objectives.

30.To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service. Any significant changes will be communicated and be provided in a revised job description.

Qualification and Experience Criteria:

1. Industrial Training Institute- Vocational training certificate in Mechanic Refrigeration and Air Conditioning  (2 years) and minimum of one year apprenticeship training from major service providers

2. Minimum of 6 years out of which 3 years’ experience from GCC.

3. Should have sound knowledge in reading and working on HVAC drawings and Lay outs. Capable of carrying out PPM Schedule and trouble shooting.

4. Should possess thorough knowledge in Maintenance activates of all kinds of HVAC Equipment such as Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, Packaged systems, DX units, Split systems, VAV boxes, Control systems, Air Distribution and CHW lines.
